I'm very tired but only because I've absolutely worked myself to death. Part of it is self induced, but then it didn't help to have a crazy weekend full of babies.
Or, maybe it DID help.
Either way, I'm beat today and ready to sleep my afternoon away. The hardwood floors are done, repaired and finished. They look awesome and feel awesome beneath my feet.
Next up on the list are fixtures around this place. One might ask why I would waste my precious time on. Well.
Door knobs.
Take one look at the green knobs I've been working with and there's no doubt left as to why I bought five billion new knobs. I should have taken stock in the Kwik Set lol I repaired two doors that wouldn't even close, one of which was missing the guts of the handles. The second one had too shallow of a hole so the guts couldn't click into it.
They are both fixed and I have a few knobs left to replace. I am doing to paint the front door and the door between the kitchen & laundry. The rest of the doors in the house just need a cleaning. I disassembled a mirror from the hallway closet.
I still have to repair the shelving and paint inside one of the hallway closets. It means I need to sand the wooden shelves I removed and get them all nicely painted and clean and then put them back in.
I will need some quarter round in the house.
I need to take off the bathroom border and touch up the bathroom.
I need to, of course, gut the laundry room.
The living room, dining room, hallway and one of the bedrooms needs painted.
I disassembled the dimmer switch because I got yucky feelings every time I had to touch it to turn on the dining room dimmer. I replaced it with a much nicer and cleaner alternative.
I took off the rusted dead bolt because it was literally hanging off of the wall trim and the wall trim needs repaired and is in bad shape. I will probably put a new door knob on the front door and consider installation of a new and more sturdy dead bolt as well.
The thing is, I have a vision for this house and it's coming together really nice. I will replace the light fixtures in the dining room and replace the fan in the living room (literally, the fan is halfway disassembled already and hanging by a thread as it is. It's probably too dangerous to turn on and I'm probably lucky it hasn't dropped and killed somebody already).
I forgot to mention that the seagulls are. Well.
Dead.
The wooden seagulls that "called to me" that were on the front porch of the house on a nice wooden pillar have since fallen over three more times and the last fall was lethal. It left rotted seagull wood parts scattered everywhere. This last wind storm was a doozy and the seagulls and post went flying off the porch and onto the side of the house.
I quit Zoloft cold turkey about five days ago. It wasn't planned. I had a difficult time remembering to take it when I was living with a coworker and working night & day. After three days sans Zoloft, I thought what the heck? What could possibly happen?!
Oh, the famous last words.
It just so happened that I was PMSing that week and so I pretty much took no shit from anybody and it really showed on their faces lol PMS is now over and I feel stable although regularly dizzy.
The good news is that my office manager thinks I'm doing great and attributes our increasing load of pregnant patients to my increasing number of private patients. The office manager and lead tech at the front desk call me "the beast" because I take on such a heavy load of work and turn it right around.
Honestly, it's easy when all my competition is 30 years older than myself (did I just really say that?!)
The overriding bad news in my life is that I have no idea where I will be living in six months and I desparately miss my kids. I have resolved that I need to stay busy just to keep my mind off the obvious.
Some men have a car that in the garage and a "work in progress."
I have a house.
